Cornish Support sends promising England Women to India!
The Cornish Sporting Club wish to create a lasting legacy from The Cornish Cricket Festivals which take place and more details of our plans here, are mentioned on our Community page.
England's Women are the World's number one side and we feel it is important that they continue in this position, as this has helped to increase participation rates in girls and women all over the country.
As part of our agreement with the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to stage the match in Cornwall, The Cornish Sporting Club will provide a certain level of sponsorship back to the ECB.
Our sponsorship money has helped to send two of the country's most promising fast bowlers in Anya Shrubsole and Georgia Elwiss to India in April 2012 for a ten day fast bowling camp with some of the World's top coaches. They will be accompanied by the former Yorkshire and England fast bowler and current England Women's bowling coach, Paul Jarvis.
The images shows Shrubsole, Elwiss and Jarvis, with the second image including the Cornish Sporting Club's two Directors, Alan George and William George. We look forward to following Shrubsole and Elwiss's progress in the future and send them our very best wishes.
